Retail Steamer Ideas That Will Change Your Life

Posted by on 7/26/2019 to Articles

Have you ever received a shipment of clothing for your retail store, only to open the box and find it is full of wrinkled and crumpled items? There is a solution to this, that can boost your retail displays and bring your store to the next level. Better yet, the tool that can solve this problem can freshen up your retail store in many other ways as well. What is this mystery item? A steamer!

What Are Steamers Used For?

You can use steamers for a variety of things. They don’t just get wrinkles out of clothes, they also kill odor-causing bacteria, and removing allergens that attract dust mites. They are an excellent tool for refreshing and cleaning all different kinds of surfaces.

Do Steamers Really Work on Clothes?

Yes, but they aren’t a solution to all your wrinkle and pressing needs. Steamers are great for quickly removing wrinkles in lightweight fabrics. But if you have an item that is made up of more substantial material, or needs a sharp crease, a steamer isn’t going to do the trick.

Steamers are ideal for wool, wool blends, cashmere, silk, and other delicate clothing items. Don’t steam fabrics like suede, waxed jackets, or plastics.

How Can I Use a Steamer in my Retail Store?

Steamers are a great tool to have in your retail store because they take up less space than an iron. They don’t require you to take down the items you have up for display to get any wrinkles or funny smells out of them. They will help you keep the things in your store looking and smelling fresh in just a few minutes each day.

All you have to do is fill the steamer with water, plug it in, and gently steam all your hanging clothes once a week or so (more often if the clothes are looking a little worn). Steam linings first, and always steam from top to bottom.

There are some other ways you can use a steamer in your retail store as well. If you have upholstered seating for customers, you can use a steamer to keep the fabric clean and fresh. You can use them on handles and counters to kill germs without resorting to harsh chemicals. You can run the steamer over the carpet in heavily trafficked areas to keep them from getting worn as quickly.
